Paper Hairband

Here's how you make a Newspaper Hairband-

Probably the easiest hat I've ever made, and probably the one you can customise the most. It can also be worn in 2 ways. Talk about functionable!

All you need is one sheet of newspaper, scissors and an elastic band. Plus whatever you want to customize it.

  1. 1.Cut off a strip of newspaper from the end. Cut as shown on the picture (right)
  2. Rip two slits on each end.
  3. Snip an elastic band so it goes like a string. Thread it through the two slits. Make it so that you can loosen it and then wear it. But if it's too small, make it for a younger brother/sister/cousin.
  4. Customise! I doodled on mine with a highlighter. There are loads of ways to decorate your newspaper headband... glitter, wool, even pencil sharpenings!

You can wear it like a sweatband or scrunchie. It's up to you! Best not to wear as a scrunchie when pencil shavings are on it...
